This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of Southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.

Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.

As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.

My Project

My students love learning about the past and the history of our local area. Especially when it comes to the animals that lived here! Dinosaurs and fossils are a particular interest for the students. This year, my students and I would love to go to the La Brea Tar Pits where they will learn all about the large mammals and dinosaurs who lived in our area millions of years ago.

We just need to get to the museum in a safe, reliable, and secure bus.

We already have the funding to attend this wonderful museum experience. Now we need district transportation to get us there. The students are so very excited to attend this wonderful museum and can't wait until February rolls around so we can go.
