Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of Southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.
Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.
My Project
My students love learning about the past and the history of our local area. I love teaching it to them too! This year, my students and I would love to go to the Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage where they will learn all about the natives who lived in our area thousands of years ago and those people who created the communities that we live in today.
We just need to get to the museum in a safe, reliable, and secure bus.
We already have the funding to attend this wonderful museum experience. Now we need the district transportation to get us there. The students are so very excited to attend this wonderful museum and can't wait until November rolls around so we can go.
