I want my students to know how it feels to fall in love with a good book! For them, I want them to experience what an adventure tastes like or how difficult it can be to put down a good book!
My students are a fabulous group of kids!
Some of these students have little to no support at home, hence the reason the classroom environment is important to help enrich their experiences. I want these students to absolutely fall in love with reading! By providing a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts, the students will have the ability to explore different interests.
My Project
Little to few of my students have books at home. Everyday they ask me to borrow the classroom books just so they can complete their nightly reading. They have never experienced that great adventure that comes from submerging your mind into a story. I want my students to not only be good at reading, but to love it as well! The addition of these books will help my students become better readers, improve comprehension through an in-class program we use, and show them places they have never been through the vivid imagination of each other.
Being an inclusion classroom means my students have extreme differences in learning ability.
Utilizing all resources is the key to help students grow individually. The students jump at the opportunity to experience and use different types of materials. With the addition of these books, the students will be able to read interesting text in order to maximize achievement.
