My students need 30 individual stopwatches to help improve reading, math, and physical activity times.

I teach at a low-income Title I school that lacks the resources these high-need students require to reach their maximum potential.

My students have differing ability levels, and are more comfortable timing themselves doing timed readings, math facts, and improving physical activity times.

We need a stopwatch for each student to use as they finish work and are trying to compete against themselves! I have tried a class timing system, and several students have "shut down" because they feel they are competing against fellow students. One self-contained resource student loves having his own stopwatch in his desk! He comes and goes during the day and frequently cannot do what we are doing because of his ability level. So, he takes out his stopwatch and times himself doing math multiplication facts. I see how excited he is to be in the classroom working, but not competing with the other students.

Your help will ensure that my students feel motivated to set goals that are not viewed by other students. Each student could then see individual results quickly, and use this information to set future goals. The sky is the limit for these students as they motivate themselves to "Take Time to Take Time"!
