KIPP Bayview Academy is a college preparatory middle school located in Bayview Hunters Point. Our mission is to prepare all of our students for success in college prep high schools, in colleges, and ultimately, in life. This mission is especially challenging given that most of our fifth graders enter KIPP reading and doing math 2-3 years below grade level. At KIPP, we not only teach our students to be good students, but to be good people. We would like to take 24 of our "rock stars" rock climbing at Mission Cliffs to recognize their excellent conduct so far this year. It is critical to our mission that we recognize students who are doing the right thing, as this helps to encourage other students to do the same. I am the principal of KIPP Bayview Academy, and I also teach 7th grade math. I am truly excited to show our students that what we say is true: When you do good things, good things happen.
