In this classroom we work to foster a learn for reading and to read for extended periods of time. My class is a 5th grade Reading classroom and students love to get cozy and read. My theme is Cardinals Baseball and make sure students understand that even athletes like them love to read and travel the world with literature. My school district has 100% free lunch and they need help to find good literature that they are interested in and can read between their busy schedules. I love fostering the love for a great book!
My Project
These products will help the students feel like the classroom is cohesive and comfortable for sustained reading. I want them to be comfortable so that they borrow a book and settle down to read for long periods of time and aren't standing up or moving around because they are uncomfortable.
The wobble chairs allow students who like to move, to move without distracting others.
The beanbag chairs allow students to be comfy as they read. Right now I do not have curtains and the room at times is too bright for them to concentrate, or they are watching the younger kids playing on the playground. I did famous first lines for a bulletin board this year and the students loved it, so quotes from Authors and books will be perfect for a clean decorated look for the students to feel at home in the classroom.
