Although our school is in a rural community, we have a diverse population of students. Many of our students are fairly new to our country and are just learning to speak English. Some of our students live in poverty while others come from wealthier homes.
My special education students have intellectual, learning and social emotional needs.
No matter their background or nationality, our students come together on the field. They're learning so much more than just the skills of soccer as they play!
My Project
My middle school students have requested books at their independent reading levels that are not geared toward elementary students. The books that we have found are high interest to middle school students.
These books will help my students be better readers, engage in reading as a leisure activity, and encourage their growth in reading different points of view.
These series will also allow my students to read at their independent reading level, but with age appropriate materials. These books will help my students be better readers, help them learn to hold better book discussions, and even encourage them to love reading.
I can assure you that helping to fund this project will make a difference in the lives of my students!
