The students in my class are amazing. They are the sweetest, kindest, and most caring group of students that I have ever taught. These students come in every day with a smile and eager to learn. Each of my students brings a missing piece to our classroom that makes it successful and full of positive energy!
Together, we are working toward building our academic skills and independence by challenging ourselves to learn and try new skills!
This class is very diverse with many different cultures, languages, and family backgrounds. Over half of my students live in single parent homes or struggle with poverty.
Even though they have already overcome so much at such a young age, they still love to come to school and learn new things! I am truly blessed to have such wonderful group of students!
My Project
With the uncertainty that this year has provided, it has also taken away so much from our eager learners. Covid-19 has caused these amazing students to miss out on so much, including holding a book in their hand. Since we went all virtual, my goal to get books in their hands and stories being read has been my ultimate goal! My goal is to create a portable storytime bag, which includes a cd player, individual earbuds, extra batteries and 1-3 copies of a book for sharing. I am hoping that portable storytime bags will bring excitement and motivation to practice their reading skills while learning from home. These students are proving that learning can be done anywhere and there is nothing that is going to get in their way. We need to give them the tools to make them reach their goals!
