My Students

My children love to sing sight word songs and are anxious to read books and light up when they read on their own. I love watching them grow!

I have a class of 23 kindergarten students who are beginning readers.

They have learned a few sight words and enjoy singing the songs but are ready to hold a book in their hands. I would love to be able to have some books to send home with them to practice on their individual levels. This will build confidence as they become readers.

My Project

My students will use the books I have requested as take home books to practice at home with their parents. They will choose a book at their level and exchange it each week for a new one. I am looking forward to watching them grow as readers this year.

These books will help foster a love of reading in my kindergarten students as they become confident in their reading skills and will be ready for first grade next year.

It will also allow their parents to see them become readers as they practice with them at home.
