My students need quality nonfiction and fiction books to choose from. When students are given the opportunity to choose what they want to read, they are more likely to want to read.
My first grade class is full of children who want to be active participants in their learning. They enjoy opportunities to read new, interesting, and beautiful books.
My ultimate goal is to create a classroom full of life-long learners!
I am hoping to achieve this goal by providing my students with the best classroom library, full of interesting non-fiction topics, and stories that will capture their attention. By supporting this project, you are giving my first graders the chance to fall in love with reading, and a chance to see the world, take adventures, and learn about the world around them without leaving their classroom.
My Project
I want to give students the chance to choose what they want to read. To be excited about reading. Finding a love for reading is not going to come by having students all read the same book that may or may not interest them.
"You can find magic wherever you looks, sit back and relax, all you need is a book," Dr. Seuss once said.
This quote is my inspiration for this project. Putting real books in the hands of our students is the one thing that will help them see that books are fun and enjoyable. Plus, books are something that will help this class, and every other group of kids that walk into my classroom for years to come.
