My students need specimen viewers, a classroom aquarium and accessories to see, touch, and explore the wonderful things in our world in a safe way. We are building a magnificent science center where they can do these things!
Young children learn best by seeing, touching, and exploring the world around them. We would like to provide a place where they can experience the wonders of our world in a safe, hands-on way where they will learn and remember these experiences forever!
My students are 4- and 5-years-old in a 4-year-old kindergarten classroom in a public school.
My students are full of excitement, curiosity, and they come to school with a natural thirst to learn. To watch the learning that takes place in their eyes is almost magical.
I want to provide as many hands-on activities and fun educational experiences as I can while they are with me. It is rewarding when they come into the classroom, with so much excitement, and visit places in our room like our science center. It is also rewarding when students say years from now, "I remember when we watched caterpillars hatch in your class, that was so neat!"

We need specimen viewers, a classroom aquarium and accessories to see, touch, and explore the wonderful things in our world in a safe way. We are building a magnificent science center where they can do these things! With these resources my young students will be able to see, touch, hear, and even smell or taste different experiences in our science center.
Children learn best when they have experiences like this. We will be able to observe nature and explore 'hidden things' that we would normally not be able to see with the naked eye. We will be able to keep and care for animals (fish) and watch how the life cycle progresses. There is a saying that goes something like "Tell me and I might remember, show me and I'll known forever". That is what I believe a classroom science center should be.
Young children are an investment.
I have one chance, for nine months, with each of my students. Help me make my students' 4K year the best, most exciting time in their educational career! Thank you for helping young children grow and learn with me!
