Mr. Santiago from East Orange NJ is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a safe and organized space to store their music stands. This will aid greatly in transporting our equipment for longevity!

Passionate and Artsy STEM Scholars from East Orange, New Jersey. Many of our students share an enthusiasm and curiosity for science, technology, engineering, and math but a vast majority also value their music education. On a daily basis, students sit by the music room door before school begins, their lunch time, study hall time, and especially after-school hours just to play music and engage in everything music related. From asking why composers wrote their particular compositions, how to improve their Noteflight or Incredibox projects, to simply come by and practice and learn the latest tune (Baby Shark), my students live in the music room as much as I do!
Many of my students come from underprivileged areas of the city and they come to school everyday to obtain a holistic education that will aid them in their quest for academic and artistic excellence.
Utilizing the music room as their scapegoat to counter their everyday adversity, our music room is their safe space and home away from home.
Currently, we do not have a stand rack to place to our donated stands on. Every day, the stands are courted to one corner of the room where they block access to other music equipment. There's a shuffle every time we need to use that equipment so the stand rack will greatly aid and eliminate this problem for all our students. These music stands help dozens of students varying from grades 6 – 12.
I am trying to establish a safe and organized environment in the music room.
With these stands, the classroom will be more organized and efficient, and safe our all of the students.
