The buzz of happy, excited fourth grade learning fills my classroom every day. I am so fortunate to teach an inquisitive group of students who love working together!
My class represents a diverse population of learners who come from different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences to learn together as a community.
My students love collaborating with their classmates. I am working to teach them vital skills in how to collaborate academically, so they are learning from one another in the best manner possible.
My Project
This seating stool will help create an inviting space for my students to gather and work together, across all subject areas. It will provide two purposes...it can be utilized in our whole-group meeting space. The stool can also be moved to a different location, enabling my students to work together on various activities throughout the day.
Collaboration is absolutely key in a 21st century classroom.
Not only are my students most engaged when collaborating, but they are also learning necessary skills for their future careers. This stool will help transform our traditional meeting area into a modern and inviting space―a place where collaboration can thrive!
The size of the stool will allow my students to easily move it to create new seating configurations. This, in turn, will help transform my classroom into a new realm of student-centered learning, where the children help design their ideal learning space.
