My Students

I just wrapped up another year in second grade, and can't wait to meet a new group of students in the very near future. Second graders by nature are energetic, inquisitive young people who are interested in everything around them, and they keep me very busy!

My building, and more specifically, my classroom, have undergone some renovations over the past few years.

While I now have a beautiful new tile floor, I am in need of some comfortable flexible seating options for my students.

My Project

My classroom is a very busy one, and students are often engaged in collaborative work on a daily basis. Flexible seating allows student to take charge of their learning, as they take part in the decision making process, and these chairs would be the perfect addition to my classroom. During cooperative and independent work time, students are allowed to make choices regarding where they would like to work, and can often be seen on the floor with clipboards or on the carpet in our meeting area.

These chairs will give my students another seating option, and will be beneficial for those students who just need to get the wiggles out.

I have seen how feeling empowered to make choices has positively affected my students' overall behavior and attitude, and I think these chairs will be a wonderful addition., as they are lightweight, easy to store and perfect for young learners.
