Take a Look - It's on the Nook!

My students need a Nook tablet and a cover to protect it for my 23 kindergarteners to assist in our Independent Work/Centers time for Language Arts.

My Students

In kindergarten, students enter with various experiences and needs. We spend an hour a day for Independent Work Time, which is vital for differentiation of instruction. The kids are in small groups based on their needs, strengths, and learning styles.

My kindergarten students are very eager learners and get excited about various types of literature and follow-up activities.

My kids enjoy interactive activities and would love the interactive books. The Nook would help make literature accessible to all levels. My students are creative and the Nook would help motivate them. Kindergarten students are just starting to read and get excited about language arts. Some stories that we would use would be stories that can read it to them, as well as access to the dictionary feature to increase vocabulary.

My Project

The Nook would be beneficial daily during Independent Work Time/Centers. This is the time when the kids are put in groups based on individual need and strengths. We would use this for both phonics mini-lessons that coincide with the curriculum, as well as the listening post center. The listening post center is where the kids would read/listen to a story, and could independently do the interactive activities based upon their thoughts and literary response. The Nook has a wide variety of literature choices that would be beneficial for all.

My students get so excited when they are able to work independently!

Please help us continue the interactive education process starting in kindergarten! This will help with independence, confidence, and language arts skills. Thank you for helping my kids stay motivated in their learning experience!
