As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, I have the opportunity to work with pre-k students. My students exhibit moderate to severe speech and language disabilities. The students with whom I work with, love to learn, especially when they are provided with engaging and interactive speech and language materials.
My students work on varying speech and language goals that help them become better communicators in their school and home environments.
Whether producing sentences, increasing their vocabulary, or answering questions, my students love to engage in speech and language activities!
My Project
My pre-k students are passionate about storytime and books! I can just imagine the excitement in their eyes when they see the Lakeshore Storytelling Kit-Set 2 and the corresponding books. This amazing set includes some of my students’ favorite characters including David, Pete the Cat, The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, and many more! The storytelling set will provide my students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning while listening and retelling events in the story. The Lakeshore Storytelling Kit-Set 2 contains adorable cloth characters and props that stick to my felt board. My pre-K students will adore using the story books along with the story manipulatives to retell and sequence events, increase their receptive and expressive vocabulary, and answer questions about the story. These pre-literacy skills will prepare my pre-k students for academic success!
