I teach full day kindergarten in an Oklahoma school that values learning through multiple intelligences. The students in my classroom come from a variety of social, academic and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, we are building a classroom community that embraces each member as we grow and develop. It is important to me that children leave with a community that values their own growth and learning, while understanding that we are all better when we learn firsthand from others and their experiences as they impact our own.
My Project
Children are naturally curious. They are full of wonder and excitement! What better way to answer their questions or help them develop new ones than through books?
These books will offer experiences to help children ignite their curiosity and wonder.
These books will be used during our whole group read aloud to develop our comprehension as early readers. We will also get to explore science topics such as force and motion as it is integrated into our literacy learning. Hopefully, these books will not only ignite their curiosity and wonder while answering questions but allow children to ask bigger, deeper questions as they learn and grow.
