My students need a classroom library that will offer current book selections at their reading ability levels. They also need "sets" of books we can use for Literature Circles!
The young adults in my classroom are students who embrace the idea of being a community of learners. They are always here for each other and we are all continually fueled by our shared commitment to learning. Our school is built on the idea of community. My students continue to grow and learn in my classroom every day.
They are thinkers, talkers, questioners, and dreamers - prepared to succeed in our changing world.
Our school is an ELL center-based school and have a high level of diversity which is embraced by staff, students, and our entire community. We are also a Title I School that has 72% of students on free and reduced cost lunch. We do not let these things define us, rather we all work together, partnering to overcome obstacles students face. Students and staff give 100%.
My Project
These books will help me to build my classroom library so my students have high-quality resources at their fingertips! These books will also make it possible for my students to achieve some important language arts goals. Many of these books will introduce students to different genres and time periods of writing.
The "sets" of books will be used to create Literature Circles with students where we will focus on developing comprehension skills, improve speaking & listening skills, and create a feeling a "lifelong reader".
Students love new books but unfortunately access to new books is limited, we appreciate your support!
