Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Third Grade is an exciting grade level. There is so much to learn and so much growth to be made. Students at this age are starting to develop keen interests in specific subject matters and their levels of curiosity know no limits!
My classroom is full of enthusiastic readers.
They love all kinds of books including chapter books, graphic novels, biographies, and poetry. My students are discovering that reading is fun! A good book does not stay on our shelves for long.
My Project
The materials I have chosen for this project are high-interest, engaging books that students will read over and over again. These books will be used for independent reading, as well as for partner sharing.
Captivating books help build strong readers!
When children love what they are reading and read for enjoyment, then they will be more likely to become lifelong readers.
The books selected for this project are so in demand from our school library that often children are put on a waiting list to check them out. By having these books in my classroom, they will be more accessible.
