My Students

I work with amazing children who participate in a special education program in a public school setting. My students have special and unique learning needs due to autism, speech/language disorders, health impairments, and other qualifying conditions.

My students are accessing the Common Core curriculum and are meeting their goals, objectives, and grade-level standards due to their hard work, determination, and their desire to learn and achieve in spite of their challenges.

They are an inspiration and are determined to achieve on a daily basis.

My Project

Children spend a good part of their school day sitting. Sitting is a necessary part of learning, but sitting in hard, uncomfortable chairs is not. I want my students to have access to flexible seating that allows them to be comfortable, and move when they are learning.

When students come to the resource room, they will know they have choices in where they sit to learn, and what they use to sit on to learn.

I am requesting two round ottomans that support collaborative and flexible seating for kids. These work as both seating options as well as tables...talk about FLEXIBLE! These ottomans are made for the classroom setting, are easy to clean, and can be easily moved around the classroom. They are made of a soft foam that will provide a soft and comfortable space to collaborate, learn and play.
