Walt Disney once said, "There is more treasure in books than the pirate's loot on Treasure Island." I want to help my students discover the treasures they can find in reading books.
My students have an educational diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our school is located in a high needs, urban school district in Missouri. My students enjoy having books read to them and they are eager to learn to read independently. The resources I've requested is the amazing Tag Touch Reading System.
My Project
The Tag Reader is an easy to use handheld personal learning tool. This personal learning tool responds to every touch on specially printed books and materials, with audio feedback and on demand reading assistance. Students reading Tag books can touch an icon to hear the story read aloud, or touch a single word to hear the pronunciation. When students use the Tag Reader they can enjoy activities that focus on core reading skills including comprehension, vocabulary development, phonics, and phonemic awareness.
Your generosity and support of this project will make it possible for my students to develop the skills they need to learn to read!
By providing my students with the Tag Touch Reading System, you will give them a map to the treasures they can discover in books.
