My Students

I have 22 students in my PreK class. Every student is special and valued in their own and unique way. By teaching in the same Title I school over the last eight years, I've taken joy in being a part of a special school community where students, families, and teachers work together to give all kids a strong social-emotional and academic foundation. We all have the same goal in mind: we don't want to manufacture students who memorize and repeat back what they learn. Instead, we want to help creative, insightful, passionate young learners find their way.

My Project

TBRI and Trauma-Informed Classrooms training is a digital training designed to equip educators to help children from backgrounds of abuse, neglect, and/or trauma. This training can be used individually or we can use it as a school-wide professional development to better understand the effects of trauma and how to heal our students who struggle.

It will teach how to disarm fear, optimize learning, and facilitate healing for vulnerable children in the classroom.

With children coming to school with more on their plates than ever, this training will help better equip our teachers on how to effectively help and heal them.
