This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Imagine 21 students trying to use 1 IPOD and 1 computer to practice reading and math skills. This is what you see in my classroom on a daily basis. An IPAD will engage my students in learning and prepare them for the technological world ahead.
My school is a Title I primary school.
Over 50% of my students receive free and reduced lunch. Most students do not have any type of technology at home. Students need to have access to different forms of technology because the new national test, SMART BALANCE, will require students to take the test on computers. My students only have access to one computer in my classroom. Having an IPAD in my classroom would allow them to be engaged in fun, interactive learning.
My Project
Having an IPAD in my classroom will allow my students to take Accelerated Reader test, play games to reinforce all standards taught, and make learning fun. Students will be able to view videos and PowerPoints on the IPAD. They will be actively engaged in learning. The IPAD applications will increase my students knowledge in all subject areas. Being able to read books and take the AR test on the IPAD will make students want to read. The use of an IPAD in a classroom is endless. With current budget cuts the only way my class can experience this technology is through donors like you.
My students need and IPAD to better prepare them for the future.
They need to be able improve and reinforce their reading and math skills through technology. Most of my students will only have technology available for learning at school so being able to have an IPAD in my classroom will be a valuable asset to my students learning!
