Help me give my students improve their reading skills by using phonics tools during the Daily 5 to increase their reading skills. I am asking for a beginning blends kit, digraph cards, and games.
My class consists of 20 second graders who continue to work hard each day to grow as readers. My hopes are to help target my struggling readers though extra phonics tools to help improve reading fluency. My students enjoy playing games, drilling with flashcards, and working in small group. I selected these special items to help target difficult skills. The students will use these phonics materials daily to help improve their reading and writing. My hope is to see confidence and smiles!
My Project
I am asking for phonic materials to help my most needed groups improve in reading. I am looking to use the digraph and blend flashcards with my reading groups. We will use these daily to drill and build up fluency. I am also asking for Didax reading skills puzzles to help work on consonant blends and digraphs. I am looking to make this learning fun through puzzle practice. I am also asking for a beginning phonics kit from Lauri Education. I am hoping to let my students take phonic books home to help review the sounds they learn. I am also asking for a Tiki themed blends and digraphs game so the kids have a way to review the skills. Along with a Splash! Blends & Digraphs Game to help students engage in review materials.
The purpose of all these phonics tools are to help improve student performance on lacking phonics skills.
The students will be able to use the flashcards, games, and puzzles to review frequently used sounds. This will help improve students understanding of the sounds and increase reading fluency. My hopes are to use these materials daily during reading centers by allowing the class full access to these throughout the day. Building stronger readers makes for a happy student!
