Our elementary school is a Title I school and a significant percentage of the students live in a one parent family in public housing. Many of my students do not have access to technology tools at home and if they do, they do not have access to the internet. Because of this, students lack basic technology skills. I would like to integrate technology in the classroom to encourage growth for each student at their own level and their own pace!
My students need to engage with technology more frequently in order to learn how to utilize technology appropriately.
These materials would allow my students to learn tablet basics and access online education tools such as Zearn for math practice and RAZ Kids for reading practice.
They would use the tablets in small groups and in station rotations. The programs that they would be able to access from the tablets would greatly enhance their educational experience as the programs meet the students at their own level and the students progress at their own pace. This means each student would have more individualized practice which greatly compliments day to day instruction.
