"Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence," this quote was said by Abigail Adams. This is one of my favorite quotes because I believe that learning is something that you need to work at to achieve.
My classroom is full of 21 very hard working students who thrive on a good learning challenge.
My students get a sparkle in their eyes when they make a connection to the learning we have been working on. A majority of the students in my classroom are eligible for free and reduced lunch, but their families are always very supportive in their children's academic success. My class is a very fun group of students who know how to take what we are learning and push themselves into deeper, tougher concepts to challenge themselves and each other. They love to use technology to connect to our learning and to teach each other so that everyone in the classroom can be successful.
My Project
By having these four tablets for classroom use, my students will be able to use them daily to gain lessons of deeper complexity that are more challenging of them if they are excelling at the classwork and need more of a challenge. Students who are struggling on concepts we are working on in class can also use these to gain more practice on the content we are working on, and use the programs to get personal help on these concepts. These four tablets will not be used to exclusively help only struggling students or only students excelling academically, but they will be used to assist every student no matter how much they are excelling at a lesson, or struggling. The beauty of these tablets are that they can be used for every content area and are not limited to only math, or reading, but can be used to meet any content area that the specific student needs.
These tablets will make a huge difference in my classroom.
It will allow students to access help that cannot always be given to each individual student at the same time. Throughout the day I make rounds and check in with students as they are learning, but these tablets can help push students further in their learning or slow down the content so that every student can succeed. These tablets will help the students in my classroom can succeed in all academic areas.
