This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is like a revolving door. I work in a low-income school district where our students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. My class consists of regular ed, on level students, special education students, students that are not on grade level, and students with anger issues.
My students are amazing, inquisitive, and like to move around the classroom.
These students do not always get to experience things like other children. Most of them do not have books at home to read, Items to complete their homework, or people who are able to help gain educational skills that they need to be successful in school. I like to focus on their growth and love for learning while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. My goal is to inspire my first graders to love school by doing many creative activities in the classroom and to be eager learners throughout their schooling.
My Project
These tablets will enhance student learning, give more learning opportunities when finished with work, help students take tests, and learn all subject matter using educational apps and have fun! Also, students will be able to answer questions that are asked using the camera on the tablet and I can track each students progress. I have been a first grade teacher for a long time and I have learned that students learn more when they are enjoying what they are doing. By implementing tablets into their daily learning, students will be more successful and will want to learn. Who wouldn't want to learn using technology?!
