Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students who walk into our classroom are hard-working, creative, and positive. As a teacher in a school where 51 percent of the student population are multi-lingual learners, it is my responsibility to celebrate, embrace, and represent the diversity in our classroom.
These wonderful students deserve to be represented and celebrated in their learning space.
At our school, the main focus is on supporting our students. The teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide our diverse student body with equitable education experiences.
My Project
It is well known that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all parts of our students' lives. New CDC guidelines will require students to work six feet away from each other. Students will also need to look in the same direction. This means students will no longer be learning through in-person, close contact collaboration, and play.
The integration of tablets into classroom learning will allow students to collaborate and actively engage in curriculum in the new world of social distance.
Through the use of augmented reality activities, game-based learning, and multiple apps, students will be able to play, laugh, and collaborate while staying safe.
