What makes my students special? Now that is quite a list! This year I have the pleasure of working as a 4th Grade ELA teacher. My job will be to help 70 bright and beautiful students foster a love of literature and learning. Having had 16 of them last year when I taught 3rd grade, I'm already sure these students are energetic and excited to learn and grow. They are constantly asking questions, making predictions, and forming connections with things we have learned or read about.
Our school is located in a small rural town in Alabama where the poverty rate is high and the students are sweet!
Students come from a vast variety of cultures and backgrounds, filling our classroom with interesting and diverse personalities!
My Project
Technology takes learning to a whole new level. With access to tablets in this project, students will be able to take true ownership of their learning. When you are holding a tablet the world is truly at your fingertips! Students who are wondering about something can ask "Alexa" or conduct their own online research. Students working on a group assignment can collaborate through several different apps and platforms, building essential 21st century skills. Teachers are able to collect helpful, standards based, formative assessment data at the blink of an eye. The benefits are literally endless!
Technology is exciting and fun, and it puts such a wonderful twist on the traditional learning we do in our classrooms.
Tablets are an engaging and exciting way to keep students motivated and invested in their learning. I've seen first hand how drawn students are to technology. Their attention never wavers and their learning shines because of it! I would love nothing more than the opportunity to ensure that each and every one of my students is excited to come into my classroom and learn each day. Incorporating technology into my daily lessons is the perfect way to do that!
