My Students

In my classroom, we celebrate victories daily! The students I serve are in grades Kindergarten to 5th grade. Teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities includes academics, social skills, daily life skills and so much more! Each student has various needs, but one thing they all have in common is their determination and ability to grow each day. My students amaze me daily with what they accomplish and push me to be a better teacher to ensure their continued success at school, home and community.

My Project

My students learn best through song, visuals and games they can play and dance along to without even knowing they are learning. Tablets would give my students a way to watch educational songs and videos and give them access to educational games through apps. These resources would be used throughout the school day, closely monitored by staff, to engage students in learning materials targeted towards them and their education needs. Each student would have access to the tablets and would have time to play and learn. Students do not have access to tablet at this time and I feel are missing out on a tool that could benefit them. Help me make this happen for them!
