My students need electronic tablets to be successful in the 21st-century classroom. Technology is the way of the world and my students need the exposure to better themselves and learn using technology.
My students live in a rural part of Central Louisiana. Students in this community are low-to-middle income, however realize at such a young age that an education is absolutely necessary to make it in our world today. Students range from ages 10-12, such a good age range to instill the importance of lifelong learning.
Ever more important, students notice the necessity of technology.
Technology is everywhere. My students love to engage in assignments through technology. Students are able to collaborate with me and their peers through online forums. Their faces light up when they are able to use technology. It is my belief that the excitement of technology keeps them engaged and provides a meaningful avenue to learn.
My Project
Having technology at my students' fingertips will allow them to explore and engage in lessons, assignments, research, and necessary skills to be successful in the 21st-century classroom and world. Also, students are required to take annual state assessments online, thus having more technology(iPads) in my classroom will allow my students more opportunities to engage and learn with technology.
My students will use these iPads to become proficient with technology, as well as provide them with different structures to learn material that will prepare them for furthering their education.
The use of different types of technology will allow students to become versatile in the types of technology they can use in the classroom and the outside world.
