Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year will be my sixth year teaching in a culturally and economically diverse little community that I have grown to absolutely love and call home. I will be teaching 21 2nd graders, all of whom will be coming from differing backgrounds, but eager to learn just the same! What I love about these students year after year is their perseverance to succeed, despite many being English language learners as well. I am hopeful this project will help positively impact these deserving future leaders of the world!
My Project
My 2nd graders are learning to read, and learning to read is hard work! Using technology to assist in this learning makes it more enjoyable for the students, as well as the teachers!
Students would be able to read, listen to, and record stories on these tablets for Mom, Dad, sister, brother, or even Grandma across the country to listen to!
What they use on these tablets, they can transfer to computers at home or at the library. Nothing would make me more excited than going into the new school year knowing my students will be able to experience taking a bit of what they're learning into their own hands, literally!
