Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am fortunate enough to have a special education classroom filled with wonderful students. My students are kind, hardworking and intelligent despite their disabilities. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district resources are limited, especially for the special education program. My students face challenges in and out of the classroom. I service 6 special education students with a various of disabilities.
They have a strong desire to learn but are often hindered in a traditional classroom set up.
My Project
Tablets for the Special Education Resource Room would be a huge addition to our inclusive learning environment. These tablets will help my students with different areas of learning, cater to their specific needs and will allow them to communicate clearly and quickly with teachers and peers.
These tablets will help my students increase empowerment, reduce frustration and allow them to grow independently.
They will get to enjoy and learn from the different educational apps and websites which will help further their understanding of different math and literacy skills. This will be a rewarding experience for each of them where they will show great growth and make huge strides in their education.
