My Students

Our school is an environmental studies magnet school located in one of the poorest areas of the city. Most of our students are on a free and reduced-price lunch plan. Walking through the halls you would never guess that though. Our school is full of life and diversity.

At our school, we celebrate success every day!

Students are given positive experiences to help them succeed each and every day. Our students are given opportunities they may not normally experience in their neighborhoods. Walking through our halls, you can see students engaged in lessons or outside in the school community garden. It is my goal to let them experience things they have not done or seen before.

My Project

These materials will allow students to experience math and language arts in a fun and engaging way. The Fire 7 tablets will let students engage in lessons through academic games and assessments. The BMOUO Cases will protect the tablets. The LEGO Classic Creative Suitcase and Next X Building Baseplates will be used as fidgets and math manipulatives. This will help them have a hands-on approach to math.

Students connect with technology making learning fun.

Many of the students I will be working with have different learning needs and these items will help me meet their needs in an engaging way. Students are often kinesthetic learners meaning they love using hands-on methods in their education. These resources will give them opportunities to engage in kinesthetic learning.
