Tablets for Scientists - Making Science Real

My students need tablets to access the internet within the classroom. We only have two computers in the classroom and class sizes are fairly large with up to thirty students.

My Students

We live in a small, rural area. Most students do not have Internet access much less computers or electronics to complete school projects. I teach science at the secondary level.

My goal for this project is to supply students with the resources to participate in true, real-life science and all its many applications.

Science is an amazing field, yet because we do not have the resources available students rarely get to truly learn how science relates to the real world.

We are a very low income school without textbooks and very few computers, because of this my science oriented students do not get the chance to inquire about the science world as I wish they could. I hope that through my projects and this program I can introduce more resources to the classroom and truly teach the students what science is about.

My Project

Our school is a small, low income rural school. Students do not have access to resources like other students do. Because of this, I wish to receive a class set of tablets that students can use to further their education and scientific research.

A goal in my class is for my students to feel like true scientists, but how can this happen if students do not have the resources available to do true science research?

This is why I am asking to please help me help my students so that we can explore and inquire about the science world and all it has to offer.
