My Students

There's no such thing as a typical day in my classroom. Students are constantly working on robotics, 3D printing, experiment proposals for NASA rockets, circuits, soldering, and many other activities. In the engineering club, students build 3D models for school improvement projects, design CO2 cars, build balsa wood airplanes and launch water rockets.

The students in my classroom and in my club are a diverse group of sixth, seventh and eighth-graders.

The club has more boys than girls, but it's a popular club with girls too. This group is also racially and ethnically diverse.

I offer an engineering and robotics club after school. The club gives opportunities for students who aren't in my class to get some experience. For students in one of my classes, the club is an opportunity to explore topics we just can't get to in class.

My Project

These tablets would allow more students to archive their projects in their portfolios. The tablets can also be used with our Sphero robots to program them. Finally, the tablets can be used to test student apps created in Android App Inventor.

Tablets will allow both the Engineering classes and the Computer Science classes to extend their projects in new and exciting ways.

The tablets will provide a way to take photos and notes about projects in their engineering class, so they can post their work in an electronic portfolio. It will provide computer science students another platform to program their robots and test Android Apps.
