Mr. Cooper from Douglasville GA is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need some more classroom technology for daily use with group activities and extension work for students who finish classwork early.

My students are energetic, respectful, and positive. They enjoy working in groups and pairs on projects and various assignments. My students work daily on working through the Idea that we are crew. The crew mindset is that we function as a learning family helping one another to develop and grow. We would like to have some more classroom technology to provide us with access to more interactive extension activities and center rotations. I hope that through the use of technology my students will become even more engaged in their learning. I believe that this will help these young men and women to become more prepared for an active technology driven work environment which they are sure to one day be apart.
These tablets will provide students with extension and group activities that go beyond worksheets. It will give them the opportunity to have more hands on practice with tools and apps available on the app store to further their own independent research and practice. Students have a better buy in when they are given the opportunity to use more technology.
Some of the mathematics apps like khan academy and IXL have interactive features which students will be able to manipulate with their finger tips through the use of the touch screen.
We will be able to also use some of the Apps available on the app store to practice Grammar with digital games and activities, as well as to build vocabulary. This will also allow student to have access to up to date dictionary and thesaurus applications, as well as a tool to do research projects with other than school laptops which some students may not function as well with compared to the layout and accessibility of a tablet which some students are more familiar with.
