My Students
My students are amazing! They love learning and enjoy being a school. I love going to work and I am sometimes sad that I don't get to teach them on Saturday. The students live in a low social-economic community, but the parents are very involved in their child's education and they do as much as they can. My students have special needs. The students are in grades 4-6 but are academically at a PreK to a kindergarten level. Many of my students have physical issues and two require reversed walkers to move around. My school is amazing at including our class in a variety of classroom and school wide activities.
My Project
My students currently have first generation iPads and they are not working very well. I don't have access to update any apps or the system and I have been told they will not be replaced when they die. There are so many great and engaging activities we can do on the tablets, but our current ones take too long to load or crash often.
So many engaging activities can be done on tablets, if you have them.
My students love using tablets and we use them to reinforce academic skills. We do small group rotations for individualized instruction in reading and math. Using tablets is one station, and the students always love to use them.
