This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are always looking for a thrill, and they are very familiar with their senses. Most of them are visual learners who are psyched by technology, especially touch screens. They need technology, and they need it now so that they can succeed even more across the curriculum.
My students are a group of technology-driven ninth grade scholars.
Their interest in technology works well with academic ability and growth. Although they face financial challenges, they face their fears head on and make things work out to the best of their abilities.
My Project
My students need the Moto XOOM WiFi Tablet to explore and experience how fascinating reading and writing can be across the curriculum. I will use this Tablet to differentiate literacy instruction as I meet the needs of each of my students. I will be able to use hundreds of applications to actively engage my learners, especially those who are challenged and/or looking for a challenge. When students are engaged in learning, the growth and progress that is made is amazing. I can't wait to share this fantastic technology with my scholars. My students will be learning in many new ways that will aid them in their academic growth. If I have students that need to learn the parts of speech, there is a perfect application to use. There are also educational games, such as Jeopardy for Language Arts, that will help students with End of Course reviews/exams. Another small group of students might be working on the modes of writing, and there are many applications for that. We will be using the Tablet to read novels that are not available in our classroom due to limited resources and funds. We will be looking forward to getting started with this cutting edge technology very soon.
I know that I will be using the Tablet with students for many years to come.
