Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are low-income and at high-risk. They don't have much but they make up for it in kindness and a willingness to learn. Many of my students have parents that speak little to no English so it is oftentimes difficult to get help on assignments at home. Some students are in homes where one or two of the parents are not involved, which puts the students at a disadvantage.

The students that I serve are from low economic backgrounds.

Many of the students are learning English as a second language. Our school provides a free breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our students. Many students receive their only hot meal at school so technology is something that many of them do not have access to.

My Project

The materials for this project will go to families that are in need of technology in order to complete remote learning. Many of our familiarizes do not own tablets or laptops and they are finding it difficult to complete online work. The tablets will be given to families that have multiple students in a household that can share them to complete schoolwork.

The assignments that students receive are primarily utilizing technology to read books, complete Language Arts activities, and Math activities.

I would like to help students get online to so that they can continue to learn even in these unusual circumstances.
