My Students

As an art teacher in a low-income, urban school district, my students are unable to fully receive the art education they deserve. They are willing to learn, but we lack the resources for optimal learning.

I want to give my students an art education that will excite them.

I want them to develop an appreciate for art and be able to exercise their creative minds. I want to embrace their various cultures through art and show them that art is all around them and a part of them.

My Project

As a school rule, my students are unable to use their cell phones in school; therefore, they are unable to research or look up images to draw inspiration from. Many of them beg to use their phone to look up images for their art projects, but they cannot do so because of this rule.

Most of my students do not have computers or printers at home, and they cannot print out images to bring in to school.

If they need to look up an artist, art piece, or an image, these tablets will allow them to do so, which will help them increase their art skills and develop creativity.
