This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a high-poverty, low-income school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. My school is a Title I school, and we have an extremely high percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunches. Many of my students' families were not able to afford school supplies, so I purchased what my students' needed out-of-pocket. This is usually what has to be done if you want your students to have the materials that they need.
My students are extremely eager to learn new things!
We were blessed to receive some new Amazon tablets from our last Donor’s Choose project, but we need some headphones so that we can use these tablets without causing distractions for the other students. Our class also needs charging station so that we can keep our tablets, chargers, and headphones organized.
My Project
These headphones will allow students to work independently during center time without interrupting others with the noise from their tablet. We would love to have a charging station for our tablets so that we have a place to store them to prevent them getting messed up or misplaced. This would allow students to have an organized spot to place our new tablets while they are charging.
The donations to this project would give my students the ability to listen to their own tablet without being distracted by the sounds coming from their peers tablets, and give our classroom a tidy place to store our tablets.
