Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager, impressionable, enthusiastic learners. They are little sponges excited to soak up all the knowledge provided to them. Most of my students don't have the means or resources available to them and are excited whenever I am able to provide any new experiences to their world. My students are young and eager to start their educational journey with Kindergarten. A kindergarten classroom is the best place to lay this foundation and I am glad I get to be apart of so many young little eager learners.

My Project

These materials, Fire tablets, will help support reading and vocabulary skills. Technology reinforcement will allow students to make 21st century connections in the classroom. This technology is an ubiquitous part of children’s lives. Most homes do not have access to technology and students won’t see it unless they are in a school environment.

Technology helps change the students and teacher roles and relationships.

Students now take ownership of their learning outcomes and the teacher becomes the facilitator!

During small group instruction students will be a little more independent. Then in a whole group setting students will share and promote high order thinking.
