My Students

Students come to us in many shapes and forms. They come from homes and backgrounds that are all different. They have different beliefs and different support systems, but when they enter my classroom, we are all family. We come together as one and support each other, so that we all succeed! My students come to a fun and inviting environment where they are encouraged to learn in their own way. Our school is in a small rural community in South Louisiana. It ranges from pre-k to 4th grade with about 500 students. Our school has been around for over 100 years. Being from a community as tight knit as this one, I’m at home teaching. That is how I want all my students to feel. As they enter my room, I want them to feel loved and excited about learning. Teaching these students has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I hope to continue this journey for years to come.

My Project

When you enter my classroom you will notice a few desktop computers. Although we are extremely thankful for this technology, at times it can be unreliable. I am requesting 2 Apple iPads. Having this technology available in my classroom would allow my students to be able to more readily access the programs we use daily in class. Programs they would be able to access include but is not limited to: Accelerated Reader, Accelerated Math, Smarty Ants, Xtra Math, and Zearn. They will also have access to many learning websites and game applications. Having this technology would benefit my classroom in many ways.
