My Students

My students are imaginative and love collaborating. They are fast learners and impress me continuity with their hard work and determination. Most come from families with very limited resources but everyday my kiddos show up ready to learn. They know how to put a smile on my face and even on days when I doubt my abilities as a teacher they do the tiniest of gestures to show how much they love and appreciate me. They are fascinated by technology and love working on hands on projects.

My Project

Having tablets allows my centers to become more exciting for my students. Not only are they using technology as a resource, but they are also reaching higher levels of engagement as they take responsibility for their own learning. I use the Daily 5 as an engaging way to teach literacy. The Daily 5 is great because it allows students to choose the type of literacy activity they want to do. By giving my students a choice, I’m teaching a valuable lesson of taking control and responsibility for one’s own learning. Bringing student technology into the classroom also prepares them for their future.
