Technology is the direction education in schools today are going. Students use this everyday both inside and outside of the classroom. My desire is to provide them with tools inside the classroom that will help them practice math and reading strategies to help their education soar to new heights.
My students attend a Title 1 school within the state of North Carolina.
As you can imagine the poverty level is pretty high within this area. The students themselves are an excellent group that love to attend school and love learning and I aim to provide them with as much as I can to help them along their journey in education.
My Project
With these resources my students will be able to go to safe websites in which to practice math skills in addition and subtraction as well as reading skills they will need to succeed not only this year in second grade but in the grades to follow. EOG's are a huge determination of their success throughout the school year and by using these sites and other apps on the tablet you can download, it will only help them to succeed on this test. It will give them confidence in themselves that they can accomplish anything with a lot of practice and hard work which is the backbone of education itself. They will be able to access these tablets throughout the day to work on these strategies and skills at which point I should see a tremendous growth in their academics and knowledge of how to read, break down words, and do simple mathematical problems.

The difference you will make in just one child's life will be worth it just to see that child's knowledge and confidence in himself or herself grow beyond their on imagination. Every body has had at least one person that impacted their life in some way growing up and hopefully this will be that impact that they will always remember.
