My Students

My students come to school from the immediate neighborhood.

They come from low income families, with most of them having only one parent struggling to hold the family together or from families that don't speak English.

They suffer from low academics and many suffer from ADHD and other learning disabilities, including Autism. They come to learn, but some days it is a struggle to keep them on task. I have to make sure that we are always on the move and we have a lot of hands-on activities and movements planned for the day.

My Project

These requested baskets will allow my students to organize their supplies and be able to store them under their seats. We recently switched from having desks to tables and my students need somewhere to store their tools that they use on a daily basis. With these baskets they will be able to access their crayon box, folders, white boards and writing notebooks without having to get up from their table.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase the students' access to their supplies, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement by helping keep all their everyday materials in one spot.

With all their materials at their finger tips, they will be ready to start each activity at a faster pace than if they had to get up to get what they needed. Being organized will help them succeed in their tasks.
