My Students

I was fortunate enough to have a high school teacher that instilled a love for literature within me. As a high school English teacher now, I want to be that teacher for my students.

I want my students to know they can be anything they want to be.

This can be taught through reading novels with characters the students can relate to on a personal level. Teaching isn't just about "test scores." Students need to be able to communicate in the classroom setting in order to learn skills that will help them in the long run. It's about teaching our students to love to learn so that they may become life-long learners.

My Project

My students need tables in the classroom in order to pursue thoughtful discussions in a small group setting. It is a proven fact that humans are social beings, and teenagers are especially interactive with each other. The specific desks I have asked for will also allow students who would prefer to stand for more differentiation.

I like to encourage my students to work together to problem solve in a comfortable classroom setting.

Currently, my students sit in groups but the desks are all mismatched. Students have difficulty getting in and out of the desk during transitions between classroom activities.

Having tables donated to my classroom would allow easier access for group work, while also allowing my students to comfortably move around the room.
