This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first year teacher starting out in Kindergarten. I have worked at my school for 4 years and I know that the students at this school deserve the best education and experiences they can get. They are kind students who have gone through a lot of struggles over the past few years of their short lives.

My Project

With group tables, the students in my class will benefit from collaboration with each other. After a few years of their young lives, the students will benefit from social interaction with peers throughout the entire day. By placing the students in small groups, students will work with their peers who are at similar learning levels, allowing me to target instruction and scaffold each lesson,.

I also am looking forward to incorporating more play, creativity and engaging lessons that come from small group work and the classroom set up designed exactly for that reason.
