My students need tables they where they can sit comfortably to do science experiments. Currently our classroom has 6 very old tables that are in very poor condition.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic learners who have come to love hands-on learning. My students are encouraged to question and explore the world around them. In my classroom, students are pushed to be their best while being able to grow and develop based on their personal needs. They are encouraged to take intellectual risks and work cooperatively.
My school is a Title I school in which every student is entitled to free breakfast and free lunch.
We service students with special needs, as well as a population of ENL (English as a new language) students. My students work hard each and every day to combat any personal struggles that they may be facing.
My Project
Currently my science/STEM class room has 6 mismatched tables that we found throughout the building. The tables are very old and in poor condition. The legs of some of them are wobbly and have to be re tightened often. Some of the tables are too low to accommodate the legs of my growing students forcing them to sit far away from the table and lean forward.
New tables will allow my students to feel comfortable in the space and work in cooperative groups easily.
These children are the future, and they deserve to be able to focus on Learning in Science class, rather than focus on how they can fit at the tables.
